In this Talk:
TRUTH is defined as ‘that which is unaffected by time, place, and causation.’ In this definition, truth stands for God, the Absolute, or the ultimate Reality behind the universe.
The Vedas describe Absolute Reality, or Brahman, as Truth, Knowledge, Infinitude, Auspiciousness, and Beauty. We can extend this definition of Truth and say that anything that helps one’s progress towards God is Truth.
In his book, ‘The Perennial Philosophy’, Aldous Huxley says that in religious literature we use the word ‘Truth’ in at least three different ways. As ‘fact’ when we say ‘God is Truth’, when we say ‘Worship God in spirit and in truth’, and when we say ‘He or she spoke the truth.’
