The Vedanta Society is the local branch of Sri Sarada Math, the women’s wing of the Ramakrishna Order.
Situated in Sydney’s inner west in the multicultural heritage suburb of Croydon, (Ramakrishna Sarada) Vedanta Society of NSW was formed in 1974.
A non-profit, non-political organisation and an affiliated branch Centre of Sri Sarada Math of the Ramakrishna Order. The main objects of the Society are:
- To promote devotion to God and harmony between the different religions of the world.
- To promote the study, teachings and practice of the Vedanta Philosophy as expounded by Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other great spiritual teachers.
- To serve all, irrespective of creed, race or nationality.
The profits from donations, book sales, and other income from the Society help us fulfil these objectives and also help finance the various educational, medical, relief, cultural, and religious activities of the Ramakrishna Order in India and Sri Lanka.
