Spiritual Evening: The Science of Happiness

September 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm

From 7 pm at Vedanta Hall for Meditation
OR From 7.30 pm join via  ZOOM (Link)

Group discussion led by Pravrajika Sridharaprana, a senior nun of Sri Sarada Math of the Ramakrishna Order.

Discussion Themes:

So many factors contribute to our happiness and general state of mind but given the fickleness of the external world, inner happiness is our only reliable source for a steady path through life. Learn more in the regular discussions:

  • THE REAL ‘I’: We are the awareness in which thoughts and body-consciousness rise and fall. We give our thoughts too much importance – superimposing them on objects like the body, hampering connection with our real ‘I’.
  • KNOWING THE KNOWER: We need to ‘clean the lens of our mind’ before reaching the source of knowledge.
  • THE FOUR DISCIPLINES: Many become disheartened finding meditation so difficult. Gradually, they fall away from their practice. The quality of our meditation is enhanced by how we live and think when we’re not sitting for meditation. We can ‘sabotage our efforts’ if our life is out of harmony.
